CARS consults on a wide range of topics pertinent to the role of the arts in contemporary urban society, including the creation and adaptation of new public spaces for the arts. In partnership with government and private agencies, CARS has championed a central role for the arts in contemporary urban settings. Adaptive re-use of historic theaters, the creation of new spaces for performance in private developments, the integration of artists into commercial districts, and the promotion of culture as a catalyst for tourism and development are all part of CARS' portfolio of projects.
