USC Pacific Asia Museum has turned itself into a full-on journey with nearly 100 objects spanning 5,000 years of art from East Asia, South and Southeast Asia, the Himalayas, the Pacific Islands, and their diasporas, living alongside new work by 24 contemporary artists, most of them commissioned specifically for this show.

 
Holding it all together is the narrative: the immigrant story, written in verse, in the voice of a wise uncle talking to his loved one. This unique exhibition holding pan-Asian mythology and a personal touch cements this as a very worth it trip to Pasadena.
